3 m one way
20.1 V panel Vmp
- Wire
- 2.5 mm² · 13 AWG
- Example fuse
- 15 A
- Design current
- 10.0 A
- Voltage drop
- 2.1%
Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.
Supporting parts
- 6.1 m total of 2.5 mm² (13 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 2.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 15 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Identify the flexible panel revision
The RSP200DB-72 sheet specifies 200 W, 20.1 V Vmp, 10.02 A Imp, 23.9 V Voc and 10.74 A Isc at standard test conditions. The manufacturer sheet identifies this 72-cell version. Its mechanical table specifies 3 mm thickness, correcting the former 2 mm catalog description. See exact-model datasheet, page 2.
The frameless panel measures 1605 × 748 × 3 mm and weighs 4.9 kg. Its thin laminate needs a supported installation; flexibility is not permission to crease it or use it as a loose roof covering.
Wire the controller and extensions
Connect the marked positive and negative leads through a solar charge controller, never directly to a house battery. The sheet gives 12 AWG leads, 700 mm long. Match locking extension connectors to the fitted hardware and route cables without pulling on the junction box. Keep connectors accessible for inspection and isolate the circuit before disconnecting them.
Series connection adds voltage; parallel connection adds current. Check both against the controller, wiring and protection design. For a 12 V battery, confirm the controller can operate with this panel's hot-weather working voltage and cold-weather open-circuit voltage.
Check cold voltage and reverse-current protection
The exact sheet gives −0.29%/°C Voc temperature coefficient, 600 V maximum module-system voltage, and 15 A maximum series fuse rating. Calculate the complete string's cold Voc from the actual lowest design temperature and required margins. The module-system rating does not establish a controller input limit.
The fuse figure is the module's protection ceiling, not a mandatory fuse size for every layout. Assess parallel-string reverse current and cable capacity. Crimp's terminal-current planning value and the connector's separate rating are not substitutes for that calculation.
Preserve drainage, cooling and the installed bend limit
Renogy's current family installation manual, section 2.1.3, printed page 55, calls for a compatible structural adhesive method, open short edges for drainage/heat escape, 5–10 mm between panels, and 72 hours curing protection. For corrugated roofs it requires at least six adhesive contact lines; otherwise this mounting method is unsuitable.
The same guidance limits the actual installed bend angle to 30°. A much larger advertised handling bend is not an installed-roof design limit. Confirm adhesive compatibility with the roof and actual panel revision before bonding, provide ventilation, and keep walking loads and sharp edges away from the laminate. Set battery charging parameters before connecting PV, then inspect attachment and output after commissioning.
