Wiring diagram
DC power path for the LiFePO4 Smart 100Ah.
The drawing includes the required battery-management and load-disconnect hardware. Battery data and shutdown control leads are not represented by these symbols; use the complete manufacturer instructions to connect and test them.
DC power-path sizing
The example supplies a small fridge circuit through compatible battery management and load-disconnect hardware. Its power paths do not verify the required BMS communication, remote control or shutdown behavior.
Cable sizes depend on the connected equipment, current and cable lengths. Add those details in Crimp to size each run.

Which Victron 100 Ah battery is this?
This is the Lithium Battery Smart 12.8/100, a 12.8 V, 100 Ah, 1280 Wh LiFePO₄ battery with Bluetooth cell monitoring and balancing. Its protection system requires a compatible external Victron BMS. Choose the manual for Lithium Battery Smart when identifying your unit; Victron's Lithium NG and SuperPack families use different protection arrangements. See the Smart battery product page and technical data, printed page 35.
What wiring does the battery symbol leave out?
Crimp's + and − represent the battery's power terminals. This 100 Ah model uses M8 connections tightened to 10 Nm. The cable lug sits directly against the terminal, with the washers above it. Fit positive-side protection selected for the cable, battery and system limits; the battery's current rating alone does not select the fuse. See installation, printed page 16.
The two M8 three-pole BMS leads are separate control connections and are omitted from the symbol. Connect them to the BMS, daisy-chaining batteries where required, and ensure that the BMS can stop every charger and disconnect loads. Bluetooth monitoring does not replace this wiring. Follow BMS connections and commissioning, printed pages 18–21.
Which charger settings and limits apply?
Victron recommends 14.2 V absorption for two hours, 13.5 V float, and disabled temperature compensation. The recommended charging current is 50 A (0.5C) for this model. Its technical table separately lists 200 A maximum charge/discharge current and 100 A recommended continuous discharge; system cables, protection and BMS can impose lower limits. See charging guidance, printed page 23.
Charging is permitted only at +5 to +50°C; discharge is specified at −20 to +50°C. Keep the default +5°C charging cutoff and verify that every charging source obeys it. Cold conditions also reduce available capacity: the 100 Ah rating falls to 80 Ah at 0°C in the technical table.
What should be checked before first use?
Fully charge and balance each battery before making a series bank. Confirm that disconnecting a BMS cable stops the charger, as described in the initial-charge procedure, printed page 15. Mount in a dry indoor location, upright or on its side with terminals never facing down, and leave 20 mm clearance on all four sides.
