Cable sizing for this example
Use the diagram as a starting point for your installation. Replace the example equipment and cable lengths with your own, and check the connections against your exact model's instructions.
Cable sizes depend on the connected equipment, current and cable lengths. Add those details in Crimp to size each run.

Match the Essential Series label
This entry represents the 12300A-H Essential Series, as printed on the catalog photograph: a 12.8 V, 300 Ah, 3.84 kWh heated battery with Bluetooth and an internal BMS. The former catalog model B12300 identifies a different battery. Use the 12300A-H manual, page 12 and verify that exact designation on the unit.
Plan around continuous current
Both official documents specify 200 A maximum charge and discharge, with 50 A recommended charging and 100 A recommended discharge. Crimp retains the 200 A maximum values. The separately listed 400 A pulse is time limited and cannot be used as the continuous budget. The specification's pulse qualification also depends on state of charge and temperature. See specification, pages 3–4.
The BMS disconnects at low voltage; the specification distinguishes an 11.2 V inverter/load cutoff from the battery's 10 V protective disconnect. Configure the load to stop before routinely forcing the BMS to open.
Set charging and check the heater
The manual gives 14.2 V bulk/absorption and 13.6 V float. Fully charge before first use. The specification permits cold charging only with heating; its −20°C operating figure is not permission to charge cold cells without functioning heating. The retrieved documents do not give a dependable heater input-current threshold or startup sequence, so confirm those details for the installed revision before relying on winter charging. See charging, pages 22–23.
Resolve terminal instructions before assembly
Use the M8 connections and install upright in a dry, ventilated location. The official documents disagree materially: the manual lists 20–35 Nm and IP21; the specification lists 8–12 Nm and IP54. Neither torque is adopted here as an installation instruction. Obtain Epoch's confirmation for the unit. Likewise, Bluetooth is supported, but the manual's CAN/RS485 claim is not corroborated by the specification or pictured terminals.
Connect matching batteries with protection
The specification permits four in series and four in parallel, including 4S4P. Use matching batteries and protect each battery or series string; route cables away from heat and sharp edges. The 200 A BMS rating does not select the external fuse. See connection and protection guidance, pages 17–21.
