Cable sizing for this example
Use the diagram as a starting point for your installation. Replace the example equipment and cable lengths with your own, and check the connections against your exact model's instructions.
Cable sizes depend on the connected equipment, current and cable lengths. Add those details in Crimp to size each run.

Match the BAT412101084 version
The datasheet identifies BAT412101084 as a 12 V, 110 Ah AGM Deep Cycle battery, rated at the 20-hour discharge rate at 25°C. Its 500 A CCA is an engine-starting test rating, not a continuous house-load or cable rating. See model and charging tables, PDF page 4.
The exact dimension drawing, revision 00, shows approximately 327 × 170 × 222 mm overall, including terminals. The general datasheet rounds the package differently. Use the drawing and actual battery for tray and clearance design, rather than ordering an enclosure from rounded dimensions alone.
Connect the physical terminals
The drawing shows flat terminal tabs with 8 mm through-holes. It does not establish an M8 threaded-insert terminal or a tightening torque. Match the actual tab, bolt and lug arrangement before assembly; a torque from another Victron AGM revision must not be copied here.
Secure the battery against movement, shield the positive terminal, and route supported cables through a disconnect and appropriate positive-side protection. Crimp's 200 A terminal allowance is a planning value, not a published terminal or continuous battery rating. The datasheet warns that valve-regulated batteries can release gas during overcharge or cell failure, so allow ventilation.
Set the AGM charging profile
At 25°C, the normal-cycle table specifies 14.2–14.6 V absorption, 13.5–13.8 V float and 13.2–13.5 V storage. The separate fastest-recharge column has different absorption settings; it should not silently replace a normal-cycle profile. See charging table, PDF page 4.
Victron says charge current should preferably not exceed 0.2C, which is 22 A for this battery. This is the catalog's conservative charging allowance, not an absolute manufacturer maximum. The recommended temperature compensation is −24 mV/°C per 12 V battery, centred at 25°C; compensation becomes especially important at higher charging currents or sustained temperatures outside 10–30°C. See sections 14–15, PDF page 3.
Plan capacity and service life
The 110 Ah rating assumes a relatively slow discharge. The datasheet's discharge table shows less usable capacity at higher current, with a further penalty for constant-power inverter loads. Avoid sizing a bank by multiplying 110 Ah by nominal voltage alone when loads are large. Recharge promptly after use; repeated deep discharge and high temperature shorten service life. Matched batteries, balanced bank wiring and individual string protection still need a system-specific design.
