Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.
Supporting parts
- 6.1 m total of 35 mm² (2 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 35 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 200 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Match the DC voltage and AC version
This entry covers the 24/3000 Smart, 230 V AC inverter. Confirm that label before connecting a battery. The manufacturer datasheet specifies 18.6–34 V DC input. A 12 V supply is below its input range; that is undervoltage, not destructive overvoltage. Correct voltage does not excuse reversed polarity, which the manual warns will damage the inverter.
Provide external DC protection
Manual section 3.2.1, printed page 5, calls for 250 A external protection and 50 mm² battery cables in its 0–5 m column. Its 5–10 m column specifies two 50 mm² cables, with a footnote requiring an individual cable to carry the fuse current without overheating. Have the actual route, insulation, installation method and fault protection checked; the table is not permission to halve a cable's required ampacity.
There is no internal safety fuse. The same table recommends a 200–700 Ah bank; lithium selection also needs adequate BMS discharge and starting-current capability. Battery terminal torque must not exceed 11 Nm.
Include AC earth and source selection
The physical unit has AC L, N and PE plus a chassis ground connection. The simplified canvas omits PE, the remote connector and alarm relay. Complete those connections in the installation drawing. The manual describes a factory neutral-to-chassis link; its floating-output appendix warns that an RCD will not operate correctly without the required return path. Have the neutral bond, protective earth, RCD and any source-transfer arrangement designed together. Do not join its AC output directly to shore or generator power.
Configure shutdown and realistic loads
Use VictronConnect to set voltage, frequency, low-voltage shutdown/restart and ECO sensitivity, then test the intended appliance starts. A compatible BMS can control the remote H/L input; turning off by Bluetooth is not electrical isolation for servicing.
The catalog's approximately 106 A represents full-load planning at nominal battery voltage. Actual current rises as voltage falls. Continuous output is 2400 W at 25°C, derating to 2200 W at 40°C. The manual labels its 6000 peak as VA while the datasheet labels it W; neither is an unlimited running allowance. Verify difficult motor starts and battery sag in the installed system.
